This quirky stone circle is located on open moorland, around two miles SSE from the village of Altarnun.
It comprises eight irregularly spaced stones leaning at precarious angles (one has fallen), which form an oval-shaped ring around its ninth central stone; located just south of centre. Because of a large gap at its northern side (approx.11.5m), the circle is thought to have originally comprised between 10 - 12 stones in total.
The first record of this stunning sacred site comes from F. R. Rodd in 1889. He was the land-owner at the time and the person responsible for
partially restoring the circle in that same year. This involved
the resitting of its centre stone and six other fallen stones.
