TRIPPET STONE CIRCLE

This charming and very accessible stone circle is located on Manor Common near Blisland. Originally it is thought to have comprised 26 evenly spaced stones, all of a similar height. Judging from the stones that remain, it can be assumed all of them would have been worked to be flat on their inner facing sides, have flat tops and their exterior sides left rough. It would have been quite similar in appearance to 'The Merry Maidens Stone Circle'. Only 12 stones now remain, and of these 8 remain standing, with some leaning quite acutely. There is also a small central stone that is a later addition to the circle.
